Mbombela (Nelspruit) – Five licensing officials from Mpumalanga arrested in connection with the R60 million motor vehicle “license fee dumping” corruption scandal in the province have appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court.
The arrest of the five suspects on Tuesday brings to 14 the number of officials arrested in connection with this illicit practice.
All the suspects face charges of theft, fraud and money laundering.
On Wednesday, the arrested suspects – 47-year-old Salibona Harriet Mlangeni and 49-year-old Phindile Grace Maseko, 36-year-old Zinhle Precious Tshabalala, and 47-year-old Lydia Sindiswa Maseko were each granted bail of R15 000.
They were ordered to return to court on 6 December 2022.
