CASH HEIST: Armed robbers pounced on a cash-in-transit van along the N4
SHARE

Pretoria – Armed robbers pounced on a cash van Wednesday along the N4 between Simon Vermooten Road and Rossouw Street.

In the ensuing mayhem, four security officers were hurt after their van was blown up. At least one car caught alight. Another one overturned on the side of the road.

Emer-G-Med said paramedics went to the scene and found that the officers suffered moderate injuries.

“The four security officers sustained moderate injuries and were treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” Emer-G-Med said.

“There were no fatalities reported.”

The South African Police Services were in attendance.

It was unclear how many armed robbers were involved or how much money they made off with.
