Johannesburg – The African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) – the party’s highest organ – on Friday adjourned the urgent meeting convened to discuss the fate of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The president, who is said to be mulling over the adverse three-member report that suggested he “may have” breached his oath of office – did not attend the Nasrec meeting, which none the less disbanded without any resolution.

NEC member Tandi Mahambehlala told the SABC that disagreements between the ANC Treasurer General Paul Mashatile, who is acting secretary general, and the party Chairman Gwede Mantashe led to the meeting collapsing.
She said the two leaders clashed and could not agree on any matter until they decided to call off the meeting.
However, Mashatile told reporters outside the venue that the NEC decided that the meeting should adjourn to allow the ANC Top Six the opportunity to deliberate on the matter first.
He said the ANC will reconvene the NEC before Parliament debates the adverse three-member panel report that said Ramaphosa “may have” breached his oath of office.
