Durban – Imbokodo FM Presenter Dr T.P Hlengwa has died after an illness.
“The sad news of the untimely departure of Imbokodo FM Presenter Dr. T.P Hlengwa has been received with shock by the African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal,” the African National Congress (ANC).
“Although we were aware of his ill health, we nursed a hope that he would recover and be back on air to reconnect with all of us.
“We wish to send our deepest condolences to his family, Imbokodo FM presenters and his loyal listeners who were like his extended family.”
The ANC said “Zwengobani” as he was affectionately known, did not only had a promising future in the broadcasting industry, but was an invaluable asset to many organisations – especially emerging small businesses which he promoted on his show.
Dr T.P Hlengwa was admired by his fellow colleagues and fans for his humility and developed a huge following because of his love for his community.
“He distinguished himself for having community empowerment features on his show,” the ANC said.
“The extent to which his show contributed to improving the livelihood of Imbokodo FM listeners should be documented in order to preserve his legacy.”
As the ANC in KZN, “we join listeners of Imbokodo FM, presenters, and the management of the station in wishing the family strength during this difficult period. May the departed soul rest in peace”.
