Footballer Siphamandla “Spepe” Mtolo collapsed and died Tuesday morning, his club Richards Bay has announced.

The club said it was “with deep sadness” that it announced that Mtolo “collapsed this morning during training”.

The club said it was not in a position to provide further information at this stage and ask that his family’s privacy be respected in this difficult time of bereavement.

“His presence both on and off the pitch will be sorely missed,” the club said.

“Thoughts and prayers of everyone in the Richards Bay football club are with his family, friends, and loved ones.”
