RELIEF FOR THE NEEDY: Social Develpment Minister Lindiwe Zulu has announced the social grant increases from Saturday

Pretoria – Social grants will be increased from Saturday, 1 April 2023.

Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu has, in terms of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) as amended, with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, announced the increase in social grants.

The social grants will be increased again on 1 October 2023.

More than 18 million South Africans receive social grants.

The new maximum monthly amounts printed in the Government Gazette are as follows:
