Pretoria – Oscar Pistorius has been denied parole.
The disgraced Olympian, who is serving time for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013, had attended a parole hearing on Friday morning.

However, the Department of Correctional Services said Pistorius had not served enough of his 13-year sentence to be considered for parole.
The department said it has received the decision of the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board (CSPB), which granted inmate Pistorius a further profile for August 2024.
“The reason provided is that the inmate did not complete the minimum Detention Period as ruled by the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) (as per the clarification provided on 28 March 2023,” the department explained.
