Durban – A car has driven into a huge hole filled with water along Umbilo Road, just before the BP Garage, first responders said Friday morning.
The car was submerged with only the top above water.
The hole at the side of the road had been cordoned off since construction began around the site some time ago.
ALS Paramedics said the crash occurred early on Friday at about 05:30.
Paramedics attended to the driver who was found to have no injuries.
South African Police Service officers were on the scene of the crash.
