Johannesburg – The Democratic Alliance (DA), as the Official Opposition in South Africa, on Saturday said it “extends our warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the occasion of the King’s Coronation”.

Emma Louise Powell – DA Shadow Minister for International Relations and Cooperation – said her party furthermore extends “our warmest wishes to the people of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and all territories of the Commonwealth realm on this historic day”.

Powell added: “Today’s Coronation represents a renewed opportunity for the ongoing strengthening of bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and fellow members of the Commonwealth Association of sovereign states with the South African people.

“We are confident that His Majesty King Charles III will continue to be guided by the principles of justice and mercy in the execution of all of his duties and judgments.

“May we together continue to build a world that fosters justice, freedom, diversity, and prosperity for all.”
