Johannesburg – Three Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Councillors in the West Rand District Municipality have been appointed as Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC).
The EFF Councillors appointed as MMCs by Executive Mayor Thabisa Gwede Bhovungana are:
- MMC for Public Safety – Councillor Tumelo Molusi
- MMC for Health and Social Development – Councillor Antoinette Shikoane
- MMC for Integrated Environmental Management – Councillor Leroy Legabe
The EFF in Gauteng on Thursday said it “welcomes the appointment of the three EFF Councillors as MMCs in the West Rand District Municipality”.
These Councillors form part of the newly established government collective with the EFF Councillor Bethuel Munyai as the Council Speaker.
“The appointment further reaffirms the EFF’s stance on taking up positions in government in order to demonstrate the EFF policies in practice,” said the EFF.
“The EFF in Gauteng trusts that these dedicated Fighters understand very well what the residents of West Rand need and are capable enough to deliver on what is expected.
“We send our well wishes to these Fighters in their new responsibilities.”
