Durban – A woman in her 60s has been fatally shot in the head and chest along Boniface Avenue in Montclair.

Responders found the dead woman lying in the back of her vehicle in broad daylight at about 16:00 on Monday.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services said when they arrived on the scene of the shooting, they found several security companies and the South African Police Service in attendance.

Paramedics said they were ushered to a female believed to be in her late sixties found lying in the back of her vehicle.

“Paramedics assessed the patient and found that she had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and head and, unfortunately, there was nothing more Paramedics could do for her, and she was declared deceased on the scene,” said ALS Paramedics.

“At this stage, the events leading up to the incident are unknown.”

The identity of the dead woman was yet to be made public.

Police are investigating further. No arrests have been reported.
