Johannesburg – The China-South Africa New Energy Investment and Cooperation Conference will be held next week, organisers said Friday.
The conference to be held in Sandton, Johannesburg, will put into action the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping of China and SA President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Organisers said: “This Conference aims to strengthen cooperation in new energy between the two nations, assist South Africa in coping with the current power crisis, and seek ways to build a strong economy after the Covid-19 pandemic”.
The conference was organised by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), South Africa-China Economic and Trade Association (SACETA) and Invest SA.
Ambassador Chen Xiaodong; Ambassador Siyabonga Cwele, SA Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, and SA Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan are scheduled to address the conference.
The conference scheduled for Tuesday, (13 June 2023), is also supported by the Chinese Embassy in South Africa.
