Johannesburg – It was tough, it was brutal, but in the end Novak Djokovic on Saturday beat the young 20-year-old World No. 1, Carlos Alcaraz, to reach the French Open Final.

Towards the end of the second set, Carlos began to cramping and it continued in the third.

Carlos soldied on but eventually lost 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to Djokovic.

Djokovic, who will turn 37 next week on Saturday, (17 June 2023), said it was “tough luck for Carlos” because at “this level the last thing you want is cramps… I hope he can recover and come back very soon”.

He added: “He is young … an unbelievable player.”
