Serb tennis superstar Novak Djokovic on Sunday beat Norwegian Casper Ruud in the final of the French Open to become the oldest person to ever win the title.
Ruud put up a fierce challenge in the first set that swung one way then another for over an hour before the 36-year-old Djokovic came out on top.
Djokovic was far from his best in the initial stages, but his quality in a first-set tie-break laid the platform for a 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 7-5 victory.
The win brings to 23 Grand Slams that Djokovic has won – the most of any professional men’s tennis player.
