Germiston – The police have made a grim discovery of eight bodies at an illegal dumping site in Germiston, Ekurhuleni.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) on Friday said officers responded to a scene at a dumping site, corner of Johan Rissik and Jackson roads across Rasta informal settlement.

“Upon arrival, they were shown eight bodies wrapped in white sacks. The bodies which are in the stage of decomposition are suspected to be of illegal miners,” the SAPS said.

“The police have registered an inquest case for investigation to determine where the bodies were retrieved before they were dumped there. The cause of death will be determined by a post-mortem.”
