Makkah – Saudi Arabia authorities say all organisational plans for this year’s Hajj are completed.
The annual pilgrimage for Muslims from around the globe starts on Monday morning.
Over two million pilgrims from at least 160 countries have converged in and around the holy city of Makkah for the Hajj, the largest gathering in the world.
South African social justice activist and media personality, Yusuf Abramjee, is in Makkah for the pilgrimage, as a guest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Abramjee said about 3 500 Muslims from South Africa had been accredited to attend the Hajj.
“We are all looking forward to this year’s Hajj,” Abramjee said.
Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca (Arabic Makkah), Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims.
Hajj is a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime.
