Pretoria – President Curil Ramaphosa on Saturday said he has “noted” the findings of acting public protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka, that cleared him of any wrongdoing.
In a terse communique the Presidency said: “The Presidency has noted the report of the Acting Public Protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka, which absolves the President of alleged abuse of power or breaches of the Executive Ethics Code in relation to an incident of theft at his privately owned Phala Phala game farm in 2020”.
Vincent Magwenya, Spokesperson to the President said: “The President has always maintained that he was not party to any wrong doing or violation of his oath of office.”

Meanwhile the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen stated that his party will be consulting with its lawyers to take the acting public protectors Phala Phala report on review.
The DA leader said he believes the report contains a number of misinterpretations of relevant pieces of legislation.
Steenhuisen said the report also presented a worrying lack of evidence that the Office of the Public Protector itself had seemingly failed to source.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) said it rejects the acting public protectors final report.
The EFF describe Advocate Gcaleka’s report as “nonsensical”.
