Johannesburg – The Human Sciences Research Council’s (HSRC) Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA) and the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) will host a two-part seminar series on the Zimbabwe elections.
“The seminar titled ‘Zimbabwe Decides 2023: Issues and Prospects‘ will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria on Friday, 11 August 2023 at 09:30,” the HSRC said on Thursday.
“The focus of the first seminar will be the upcoming elections in Zimbabwe that will be held on 23 August 2023, followed by the post-election analysis on a date and venue to be announced.”
The HSRC said the first part of the seminar will use the recently released Afrobarometer pre-election survey findings to analyse and reflect on key issues, prospects, and the regional implications of Zimbabwe’s elections.
The research council said the seminar will bring together multiple participants, including diplomats, academics, researchers, think tanks and civil society organisations who have an interest in overseeing a peaceful and credible electoral process that may potentially unlock the economic logjam that Zimbabwe is currently in.
