Pietermaritzburg – A man in his 70s suffered a fatal cardiac arrest after a head-on collision between a car and a truck on Monday morning.
ALS Paramedics said the collision occurred just after 06:45 on Bombay Road in the Northdale area of Pietermaritzburg.
When responders – ALS Paramedics and Netcare911 – arrived on the scene they found that a car had collided with a truck head-on.
“The driver of the car, a male believed to be in his 70s, was found in a state of Cardiac Arrest,” said ALS Paramedics.
“Despite resuscitation efforts, the patient sadly passed away on the scene due to his injuries.
“At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown, however, the SA Police Service were on the scene and will be investigating further.”
