Mbombela (Nelspruit) – The Hawks in Mpumalanga are looking for 29-year-old Zola Martin Mnisi, of Swalala Trust in Mpumalanga, in connection with a recent cash-in-transit robbery in Malelane.

The Hawks said the suspect was linked to a cash-in-transit robbery, which happened in Malelane on 11 August 2023.

Narrating events leading to the heist, Hawks spokesperson in Mpumalanga, Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, said: “An armoured vehicle (AV) of Fidelity was traveling from Malelane towards Tonga when the fidelity vehicle was attacked by a group of criminals approximately 15 km from the N4, the AV was rammed by a C- class, Mercedes Benz”.

Captain Sekgotodi added: “The driver of the AV lost control and the vehicle overturned.

“The AV was bombed, and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.

“During the investigation, Mnisi was allegedly linked to the incident.”

Captain Sekgotodi said the report was presented before Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court and a warrant for his arrest was authorised.

Anyone with information regarding Minisi is requested to contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Albert De Lange on  071 481 2815. Information received will be handled confidentially.
