Pretoria – Taps have run dry in Sunnyside and surrounding areas after a shutdown of water supplies to enable technicians to repair a leak at the Salvokop Reservoir.
Innaudated by calls inquiring about the dry taps, the Tshwane metropolitan municipality on Thursday said it was aware of a water supply interruption impacting Sunnyside and surrounding areas.
“The citys team of technicians had to shut down the water supply in order to effect repairs on a continuous water leak in the Salvokop Reservoir supply zone,” explained the City of Tshwane in a terse statement.
“The water supply will be restored as soon as repairs are concluded.”
Affected areas include:
Arcadia
Part of Muckleneuk (north of the railway line)
Part of the Pretoria CBD (south of Minnaar Street)
Sunnyside
Trevenna
“The City apologises for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this unplanned service interruption,” said the statement.
