Johannesburg – Munsoft has upgraded its Consumer Portal as part of an ongoing commitment to providing municipalities and their communities with cutting-edge technology solutions.
“While our Consumer Portal has been actively serving most of our clients for several years, we are excited to have introduced a substantial upgrade to the portal,” says Andile Makhanda, Head of Product Development of Munsoft.
South Africa’s homegrown fintech firm, which services municipalities across the country and beyond, says some clients have already been able to benefit from this upgrade since early October 2023.
“The new Consumer Portal will be accessible to all our clients who have opted for this service, offering them a more advanced and user-friendly platform,” says Makhanda.
Munsoft says the upgraded Consumer Portal not only has a fresh look and feel but also represents a complete rebuild of the existing platform using the latest technology.
This overhaul brings numerous advantages to both municipalities and their Consumers, including an enhanced user experience, and sets the stage for the introduction of exciting new features and functionalities.
The improved Consumer Portal offers Consumers the ability to conveniently view and download their statements and access information related to their municipal accounts.
Furthermore, it facilitates quick query resolution and feedback, thereby assisting in the increased accuracy of billing records. “There are no charges for Consumers to use any of the current Munsoft e-Services suite, including the Consumer Portal and electronic statement delivery,” says Makhanda.
“While the current portal primarily serves as an interface for Consumers to access their account information, we have plans to expand its functionality, providing Consumers with more self-service options in the near future.”
The Munsoft Consumer Portal aims to improve the overall customer experience when interacting with municipalities.
“Although not currently available in this latest release, we are actively developing functionalities that will enable communities to report service delivery issues, such as leaking water, illegal dumping, and faulty traffic lights to name a few through the Portal, tailored to the specific needs of each municipality,” says Makhanda.
Munsoft remains committed to driving innovation and delivering solutions that empower municipalities and communities.
“We are excited about the enhanced Consumer Portal and look forward to continually improving the digital experience for all stakeholders,” Makhanda concludes.
