Pretoria – Two suspects arrested in connection with the burglary at President Ccyril Ramaphoa’s Phala Phala farm are expected to appear in the Bela Bela Magistrate’s Court, Limpopo, today, (Tuesday, 7 November 2023).
Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale said the suspects aged 39 and 30 were arrested on Sunday and Monday.
“The pair was arrested in Rustenburg and Bela Bela, respectively, by the members of the National Serious Corruption Investigation in relation to the Phala Phala farm break-in in February 2020,” said Colonel Mogale.
The burglars allegedly made off with about $580 000 received from Sudanese businessman Hazim Mustafa as payment for livestock.
The arrest of a third suspect was imminent, Colonel Mogale said.
