Polokwane – A police captain, his girlfriend, and another man appeared in the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court, in Limpopo, for the murder of the mother and grandmother of Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku, who plays the role of Lizzy Thobakgale.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the accused David Khoza, police captain Mothiba William Manku, and his police officer girlfriend, Nonhlahla Cytronella Ngubo, appeared in court on Thursday.
Captain Manku is the real-life father of the Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku.
The case against the trio was adjourned to next week on Tuesday, (23 January 2024), for bail application.
The bail application was delayed because the profile and status verification of David Khoza was outstanding.
All three face two charges of murder and incitement to commit an offence.
The popular television series actress’s mother and grandmother were killed in Mookgopong in Zebediela Limpopo in May 2021.
In a statement released last week, the actress’s family confirmed that three people had been arrested for the double murder.“This is a difficult time for the family, but we are trusting the SAPS [South African Police Service] and the judicial system to run its course as is necessary to bring the matter to a close,” the family statement read in part.
