Carolina – The Mpumalanga pensioner arrested after police found an arms cache at his home, which included more than 100 high-calibre rifles, has been identified as Gugu Boy Elias Mnisi.
The 67-year-old accused appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Allegations are that police swooped on pensioner Mnisi’s Carolina home, where they recovered more than 100 firearms as well as 1 700 bullets.
Police have since established that the pensioner previously worked for a security company.
High-calibre rifles, pistols, and ammunition were found under a bed and inside a wardrobe
Mnisi faces serious charges of possession of unlicenced firearms and ammunition as well as contravention of the Firearm Act of South Africa.
However, the pensioner was granted bail of R6 000 and is expected back in court on 10 April 2024.
