Middleburg – Doctor Bridget Malindisa Masina who was arrested for stealing medicines and medical equipment was released on bail on Monday by the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Magonseni Nkosi said: “Bridget Malindisa Masina appeared in court today and was released on R5 000 bail.”
The 31-year-old doctor was arrested on Friday and she spent the weekend behind bars.
Doctor Masina was stopped and searched by guards at the exit gates as she attempted to leave the hospital.
She was allegedly caught with stolen medicines and medical equipment worth R50 000 that were concealed in the boot of her car.
Doctor Masina, who is facing charges of theft, was ordered to appear again in court on 5 April 2024.
