Cape Town – More than 200 business leaders, investors, and founders from South Africa’s startup community participated in the “Founders Den” event, which took place at the Specno headquarters.
Organisers said the tech event on Thursday, (14 March 2024), aimed to build a supportive ecosystem for startups in South Africa, through a mentorship network dedicated to connecting tech founders to investors and corporate innovators.
The goal was to improve collaboration between corporates and entrepreneurs in the local tech sector.
Daniel Novitzkas, Co-Founder and Chairperson at Specno said: “We are happy to report that our Founders Den event is playing a key role in growing South Africa’s technological industry, to sustainably create new economic opportunities and jobs in the sector.
“The occasion forms part of our vision to help one million people across South Africa build tech-enabled businesses by 2030.”
The Founders Den event acts as an inclusive catalyst that brings together male and female founders, investors, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to interact and build connections.
This year, the event offered a showcase of some of South Africa’s fastest-growing startups, with a panel discussion that looked at elevating innovation by crafting winning partnerships within our tech ecosystem.
Panelists for this year’s event included Zamokuhle Twhala, Co-Founder and CEO at AgriKool (an e-commerce platform that connects farmers, buyers, and transporters for a fairer, more transparent food system in Africa).
Dr. Peta-Anne Browne, Founder of Wardworx (an app that simplifies task management for thousands of doctors in South Africa), and Christiaan van den Berg, Founder of JOBJACK (connecting 2M+ job seekers with opportunities for work in South Africa) were also on the panel.
“Specno is a proud organiser of this event, and as a company, remains dedicated to being a provider of world-class technical solutions for South African businesses,” said Novitzkas.
“Everything we do aims to address and overcome the digital challenges local companies face, with the goal of improving their overall efficiency, profit margins, and growth.
“As pioneers in the field of digital innovation, we are committed to driving creative problem-solving for business success in South Africa and across the globe.”
