Ganyesa – Senior municipal official 37-year-old Morufa Moloto, accused of conniving with her 39-year-old partner – Letladi Emmanuel Ramoroka – to process a dodgy laptop supply tender, appeared in Ganyesa Court on Monday facing allegations of corruption.
Senior municipal official Moloto based at Kagisano-Molopo Local Municipality was arrested on Friday, (19 July 2024), by the Hawks.

Allegations are that two accused were involved in corruption in the awarding of a tender to supply and deliver eight laptops for the Kagisano Local Municipality in Ganyesa, North West.
The state alleges that Moloto awarded her alleged partner Ramoroka’s company, Thatsofaso Trading and Projects, a tender of R185,000 to supply and deliver laptops.
Furthermore, the state alleges that the tender was awarded to a bidder with the highest quotation to other bidders.
A payment of R185 000 was allegedly paid to Thatsofaso Trading and Projects.
The state alleges that after the payment, Ramoroka illicitly transferred R150 000 to Onalerona Consulting – a company belonging to his municipal official partner, Moloto.
Both accused were granted bail of R15 000 each and their matter was adjourned to 28 August 2024 for further investigation.
Director of Public Prosecutions, in North West, Dr. Rachel Makhari lauded the prosecutor and investigating officer for securing the suspects’ court appearance.
