Pretoria – The Hawks have arrested 42-year-old attorney Michael Senotse Mabunda over his failure to hand over millions of rand paid by the Road Accident Fund (RAF) to his clients, who were supposed to be the beneficiaries of the claims.
Mabunda lodged claims with the RAF on behalf of his clients.
The RAF paid an amount of R10 562 173.21 into his trust account.
Allegations are that Mabunda failed to transfer the funds to his clients, the rightful beneficiaries of the RAF claims.
Mabunda was served with a summons in connection with a case registered at Pretoria North Police Station in August 2019.
This week on Tuesday, (15 October 2024), Mabunda appeared in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
The case was adjourned to 26 November 2024 for further proceedings.
