Malelane – An atmosphere of shame and disgust enveloped the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Malelane, Mpumalanga, where a man accused of raping his three young daughters appeared.

The 41-year-old man accused of raping his daughters aged six, 10, and 13 cut a pathetic figure when he appeared before the court on Monday, (21 October 2024).

The unimaginable abomination was initially suspected by teachers at a school, where the incest-accused man’s 13-year-old daughter attends.

A preliminary investigation was conducted, which included a medical examination of the accused’s daughters.

The evidence led the police to act.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the man, who lives with his wife – the mother of the children, was arrested on Saturday, (19 October 2024).

Colonel Mdhluli said the three victims along with their brother were now housed in a safe place.

The accused was remanded in custody and will be brought back to the court on 7 November 2024.
