Johannesburg – The fuel pumping issue caused by a faulty valve, which grounded some flights at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday, has been fixed.

The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) announced Monday evening that the fuel system was “now fully operational”.

Earlier Monday, ACSA said it was experiencing challenges with refueling and some flights had been grounded.

“Fuel trucks are currently en route to the apron, and normal operations have resumed,” ACSA said in a statement.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and appreciate your patience and understanding.

“For passengers who may still be experiencing delays, we kindly advise reaching out directly to your respective airlines for further assistance.

“Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience.”
