Bushbuckridge – A horrific crash involving two articulated trucks has left one driver dead and another one injured.

The deadly collision occurred along the R40 between Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek in Mpumalanga on Friday morning, (4 April 2025).

Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said: “The trucks collided head-on in the morning. One of the truck drivers succumbed to injuries”.

Mmusi added: “The recovery may take some time before the road is opened, and motorists will be notified once the scene has been cleared.

“Motorists are urged to use the road cautiously and with patience towards other motorists.

The other driver was injured and has been taken to a medical facility.

Mmusi urged motorists to use alternative routes until the R40 road has been cleared.
