Durban – One person has died and three others were injured in a single-car crash along Mt Batten Drive, near the BP Garage, in Reservoir Hills.

ALS Paramedics said the car crash occurred on Easter Sunday, (20 April 2025).

“Just after 18:45 ALS Paramedics arrived to find carnage as they found a single vehicle had somehow lost control before colliding with a Tree and overturning,” said spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that there were four occupants in the vehicle, including a two-year-old baby.

“Paramedics found the driver, a male believed to be in his 30s, had sustained major injuries and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene.”

Jamieson said three passengers were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for further care.

He said at this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown, however, SA Police Service officers were in attendance and will be investigating further.
