Centurion – A huge sinkhole has developed at the corner of Burger Avenue and Langerbrink Road in Lyttelton Manor, Centurion.
Langerbrink Road, a busy street with a primary and high school, has been blocked off, said an affected resident Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the City of Tshwane has announced a road closure.
“Take note of the road closure at the intersection of Burger Avenue and Langebrink Road in Lyttelton Manor, Centurion, due to a ground collapse,” the City of Tshwane said in a terse statement on Friday, (9 May 2025).
The City urged motorists to avoid the affected streets and use alternative routes such as:
- Botha Avenue
- Union Avenue
- Cantonment Road
- Station Road
The City said it has been assigned a team of professionals to “conduct an investigation into the incident”.
