Johannesburg – A transport company has raised the alarm about one of its female truck drivers who has gone missing in Mpumalanga.
Mmakwena Rammutla, a mother of three children, who was driving an articulated truck, went missing on Youth Day, Monday, 16 June 2025.
The 41-year-old trucker employed by the female empowerment company, Maysene Logistics, has not picked up her phone or responded to messages.
Speaking to The Bulrushes late on Tuesday, 17 June 2025, Maysene Logistics Chairperson Reneiloe Semenya said: “One of our female drivers went missing together with the truck yesterday”.
Semenya added: “We are fearing for her safety and life. She is a mother of three children & her youngest is not even two years old”.
Semenya said Rammutla was last seen wearing a grey work suit, driving a white Mercedes-Benz Actros truck branded Maysene Logistics.

“Mmakwena is part of our women empowerment initiative, one of four female drivers paving the way for inclusion in our industry,” lamented Semenya.
“She is deeply loved by her family… her disappearance has left all of us devastated.”
Semenya said fears for the safety of truck driver Rammutla were heightened when the trailer was found in Rhodefield, Kempton Park.
The load of dry bulk cement was intact.
“It was still sealed, just an indication that they wanted the horsepower truck,” Semenya said.
“But again, if they got the truck, why didn’t they let Mmakwena go? She was not a threat to them.
“We would be in a better position if they let her go free.”
However, the horse and driver were still missing.
“I fear the brutality associated with women in general and keep asking myself questions about her whereabouts,” lamented Semenya.
“I am not okay with the uncertainty we are faced with.”
Desperate, Semenya sent a message in the early hours of Wednesday, 18 June 2025, saying: “We are still at the police station and they are not helping us to open a missing person case”.
