eManzana (Formerly Badplaas) – The African National Congress (ANC) says the leadership conference in the Gert Sibande Region was “successful and peaceful”.
The new Top Five elected at the 9th regional conference held at Forever Resort in eManzana from 24 to 26 September 2025 are:
- Walter Mngomezulu (chairperson),
- Thulasizwe Thomo (deputy chairperson),
- Aubrey Maboea (secretary),
- Maqhawe Mlotshwa (deputy secretary) and
- Lindi Masina (treasurer)
Thomo and Masina are also provincial members of the executive council for “public works, roads and transport”, and “education”, respectively.
ANC Mpumalanga chairperson Muzi Chirwa said the conference was part of efforts to build a strong and united party.
“The ANC in Mpumalanga congratulates the Regional Task Team and branches of the ANC in the Gert Sibande Region for convening the very successful 9th conference,” Chirwa said.
He said the outcomes of the conference were geared toward enabling the ANC to execute the expectations of the people.
Delegates from more than 100 branches of the ANC in the Gert Sibande Region attended the conference.
“We are extremely delighted that the conference was a true ‘parliament of Africans’ in particular and blacks in general,” Chirwa said.
