Durban – A woman in her 40s died in a head-on collision along Underwood Road, near Hans Detman Road in Pinetown, West of Durban.

ALS Paramedics Spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the collision occurred Sunday morning just before 1 am.

Jamieson said on arrival at the crash scene, “Paramedics assessed the scene and found that one of the drivers, a female believed to be in her 40s, had sustained fatal injuries.”

The ALS Paramedics spokesperson added, “There was nothing Paramedics could do for her, and she was declared deceased on the scene”.

He said two occupants from the second vehicle had sustained serious injuries.

“Once stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics, they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care that they required,” said Jamieson.

Police were also in attendance on the scene.
