London – On a rainy Saturday in London, an unforgettable night full of glamour, sparkle, and total Kenyan vibes took over Battersea Station Cinema.
The word of the premiere of the first Kenyan film to be shown in London circulated on every Kenyan group chat.
The response was evident.
Kenyans showed up to support Bus 338 in full force.
Bus 338 is a film that stars Serah N Teshna, Bilal Mwaura, Robert Agengo, Pascal Tokodi, and more, produced by SNT Productions.
The film is a survival thriller that unfolds on a single bus journey, where ordinary lives collide with extraordinary danger.
Bus 338 is more than entertainment.
It is a reflection of humanity under pressure, a story that speaks to courage, faith, and the choices we make when survival is at stake.
Present at the premiere was the Ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Joseph Warui, who told The Bulrushes, “It is an honour to be here and I am so proud.
“This is a film acted by Kenyan actors, and they are with us today.”
Also present was Member of Parliament for Ealing and Acton, Rupa Huq.
She said, “This is clearly a star-studded event; I am excited to be here.
“I can definitely relate to the situation in the film, and there is a lot you can discover about yourself.
“Kenya is a wonderful country, and the Kenyan people deserve this moment.”
Huq later announced she will take the film to parliament to be shown.
Producer Serah talked about the film during a short “Q and A” session.
Serah called this project “a passion project, something that was born in Covid”.
She described the immense work of herself and the crew, and what it took to create this film.
“This was not an easy task; this film was very expensive to make,” Serah stated.
“But I want to show the world African films, especially Kenyan films.”
Serah added, “We need more support at all levels and funding to create without a limit and for the world to take from us and be inspired by us.”
The party continued into the night, as it was a memorable event.
There is a word that the film will soon be on Netflix, but there are also a lot of exciting moves by the team to come.
