Cape Town – Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has announced that Cape Town International Airport has surpassed the milestone of one million passengers in October 2025.

ACSA this achievement, usually seen only during the busy December period, signals an early and strong start to the peak travel season.

Thabo Phateng, Acting Regional General Manager, Cape Town International Airport, Cluster 2, expressed satisfaction with this accomplishment, highlighting the trust travellers place in ACSA’s airports and the commitment of the operational teams.

Phateng said that as the festive season approaches, the focus remains on delivering efficient, safe, and welcoming airport services.

ACSA said the early growth in passenger numbers reflects the robustness of South Africa’s tourism and aviation sectors, supported through ongoing collaboration with the Air Access Steering Committee.

This milestone also highlights ACSA’s continued investments in infrastructure, technology, and service quality.

Strong collaboration among airport partners, airlines, ground handlers, and Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) has been crucial in ensuring smooth operations during this high-demand period.

ACSA thanked all partners and passengers for their cooperation as Cape Town International Airport manages increased volumes with its current facilities.

Even while operating at capacity during peak times, the teams remain dedicated to providing a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all travellers.

With peak season underway, Cape Town International Airport continues to work closely with airline partners, border authorities, and service providers to maintain the highest levels of safety, comfort, and hospitality throughout the season.
