Madid – The Real Madrid forward had successful surgery Tuesday at Hospital Olympia in Madrid to repair a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee, performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes.
He posted photos in a leg brace, quoted Isaiah 41:10, thanked fans, and vowed to return early in 2027, missing the season and Brazil’s World Cup.
The Brazil international suffered the ACL injury in Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Getafe earlier this month.
The injury adds to Real Madrid’s woes ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City, with Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and others also sidelined.
The Champions League last-16 first leg takes place tonight, Wednesday 11 March 2026, at the Bernabeu (kick-off 20:00 GMT).
