Cape Town – CapeGate Shopping Centre will host the Autumn Edition of CG Thrift Fest from 27 to 29 March 2026 – a free, weekend-long pop-up market at Centre Court featuring pre-loved, secondhand, and vintage goods from a range of independent stalls.

The event runs from 09h00 to 20h00 on Friday and Saturday, and from 09h00 to 17h00 on Sunday.

With secondhand retail growing steadily across South Africa, CG Thrift Fest taps into a measurable shift in consumer behaviour.

Shoppers are increasingly seeking out quality pre-owned clothing, accessories, and unique decorative pieces as an alternative to traditional retail – driven by both affordability and a preference for more considered consumption.

“CG Thrift Fest has become one of the most anticipated events in our annual calendar,” said Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager of CapeGate Shopping Centre.

“The Autumn Edition feels particularly fitting.

“There is something about the season that lends itself to slower, more considered ways of shopping.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming both seasoned thrifters and first-timers to our Centre Court.”

Each stall is curated to ensure quality across a range of price points, making the market accessible to a broad audience, from dedicated vintage collectors to casual browsers.

Entry is free.
