Pretoria – Just days after National Coloured Congress leader, MP Fadiel Adams, raised concerns about a raid on a house he once lived in, he has been ordered to present himself to the nearest police station.
After a weekend raid on his former home in Westridge, Mitchell’s Plain, MP Adams claimed he was being targeted by the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
Today, Tuesday, 5 May 2026, the South African Police Service (SAPS) PKTT called on MP Adams to present himself at his nearest police station in connection with a case of fraud and defeating and or obstructing the course of justice.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, said the SAPS was in possession of a J50 warrant of arrest for MP Adams.
“The warrant relates to serious allegations that he interfered with ongoing investigations into the murder of the late ANC Youth League Leader, Mr. Sindiso Magaqa,” said the spokesperson.
“Through investigations, the task team discovered that Mr. Adams interfered with the now convicted and sentenced hitman at a very sensitive and advanced stage of the police’s investigation.”
Brigadier Mathe said the police have gone through extensive efforts to locate MP Adams, including visiting multiple addresses associated with him.
“Arrangements were made with his attorney to hand himself over on Monday, 4 May 2026, at the Cape Town Central Police Station, but as of now, he has not cooperated,” revealed Brigadier Mathe.
“Mr. Adams was scheduled to appear before a KwaZulu-Natal court on Monday, but failed to do so.
“Despite numerous attempts by SAPS to make contact with his legal representative, Mr. Adams has not made himself available to police.”
In a statement made available to The Bulrushes, SAPS urged MP Adams to cooperate with law enforcement and hand himself over at his nearest police station without delay.
At his last public appearance, soon after Saturday’s raid, MP Adams accused the PKTT of conducting an unlawful and intimidatory raid on a Mitchells Plain home he previously occupied.
He said on Saturday, 2 May 2026, around 4 am, approximately 15 masked police officers stormed the Westridge property without presenting a search or arrest warrant.
MP Adams said the police officers pointed rifles at a 30-year-old female teacher, forced her husband to lie on the ground, and beat the couple’s 12-year-old son.
MP Adams, who no longer lives at the house that was raided, described the raid as an attempt at intimidation linked to his public feud with KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, rather than a legitimate police action.
He has opened a case of intimidation and vowed not to be silenced.
