Johannesburg – Land Bank will once again be taking part in NAMPO Harvest Day 2026, using one of the country’s most influential agricultural platforms to drive important national conversations on agricultural resilience, innovation, sustainability, and farmer support.
Taking place from 12–15 May 2026 in Bothaville, NAMPO remains one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the Southern Hemisphere and continues to play a critical role in shaping the future of the agricultural sector.
This year’s theme, “Resilience through Innovation,” comes at a time when South African farmers are facing increasing pressure from climate volatility, rising input costs, energy constraints, infrastructure challenges, and economic uncertainty.
As a development finance institution focused on the growth and sustainability of agriculture, Land Bank’s participation at NAMPO reflects its continued commitment to supporting farmers and agribusinesses through innovative financial solutions, strategic partnerships, and practical interventions that strengthen long-term resilience across the sector.
Over the years, Land Bank has maintained a strong presence at NAMPO, recognising the exhibition as an important platform to engage directly with farmers, industry leaders, policymakers, organised agriculture, and stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
This year, Land Bank will host a series of high-level discussions aimed at unpacking some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing agriculture today, while also exploring collaborative solutions that support profitability, transformation, food security, and sustainable growth.
On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, Land Bank’s Team will lead discussions under the theme “Unlocking Financial Growth: Blended Finance & Agro-Energy Solutions.”
The session will explore how blended finance structures and the Agro-Energy Fund, as an alternative energy financing solution, can help farmers improve operational sustainability, manage rising production costs, and strengthen business resilience in an increasingly challenging operating environment.
The discussion will feature Land Bank-funded farmers who have successfully implemented blended finance and agro-energy initiatives within their farming operations.
The session is expected to provide practical insights into how innovative financing models can unlock growth opportunities while supporting sustainable agricultural production.
On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, Land Bank Executive Leadership will host a strategic industry discussion themed “Unlocking the Future: Strategic Leadership & Farmer Success.”
The engagement will bring together key industry stakeholders and leaders from organised agriculture to discuss the future of South African agriculture, sector competitiveness, transformation, collaboration, and sustainable development.
The panel is expected to include representatives from Grain SA, AGDA, Agri SA, and the Free State Department of Agriculture, creating a platform for constructive dialogue on how the sector can collectively navigate current challenges while positioning agriculture for long-term success.
The conversation on resilience and sustainability will continue on Thursday, 14 May 2026, when Land Bank Insurance Company (LBIC) leads discussions under the theme “Protecting Agriculture: Insurance, Risk & Resilience.”
The session will focus on the growing importance of agricultural insurance and risk management solutions in helping farmers mitigate the impact of climate-related risks, production losses, and increasing uncertainty within the sector.
Attention will also be given to the importance of improving accessibility and awareness of insurance solutions for emerging and developing farmers, many of whom remain especially vulnerable to climate shocks and financial disruption.
NAMPO 2026 provides an important opportunity for meaningful engagement on the future of agriculture and the role of partnerships in further strengthening resilience across the sector,” said Acting Chief Executive Officer Jabu Mphambo.
This comes as South African agriculture continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience despite increasing economic and environmental pressures.
Land Bank supports innovation, collaboration, and accessible financial solutions that remain critical to assisting farmers, strengthening food security, and unlocking sustainable growth across the agricultural sector.
Land Bank’s participation at NAMPO 2026 will also include stakeholder engagements, networking opportunities, and discussions focused on sustainability, financial inclusion, climate resilience, and agricultural innovation.
Visitors to Nampo park will have the opportunity to engage directly with the Land Bank team and access key information on agricultural financing and insurance support, as well as to participate in the various engagements taking place throughout the exhibition by visiting the Land Bank stand at Total Hall (Stands 6–8).
