London – Daniel Dubois delivered a devastating display of power, crushing Fabio Wardley in the second round to defend his WBO heavyweight world title on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.
The 29-year-old champion wasted little time imposing himself, stalking Wardley from the opening bell.
Dubois landed a heavy punch that dropped the challenger in the first few seconds.
Wardley showed courage, got up from the canvas and attempted to trade with Dubois, but the champion’s superior power quickly began to tell.
After a competitive opening round, Dubois stepped up the pressure in the second.
A thunderous right hand rocked Wardley and forced him onto the back foot.
Sensing the finish, Dubois unleashed a barrage of punches, leaving the challenger struggling to respond.
His corner threw in the towel just as the ref called off the one-sided fight.
The victory extends Dubois’ impressive run in the heavyweight division and further strengthens his claim as one of boxing’s most dangerous punchers.
The champion celebrated with his team as the crowd roared its approval following another explosive performance.
For Wardley, the defeat is a disappointing setback.
