Johannesburg – Gautrain has announced that it will offer football fans a convenient and seamless way to get to the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, 31 October 2026.

Football fans who purchased the now sold-out match ticket and Gautrain return bus transport package have return bus transport between Park Station and the stadium included in their package.

“Gautrain will offer fans a convenient and seamless way to get to the Soweto Derby, building on our experience in supporting major social and lifestyle events across Gauteng,” Tshepo Kgobe, CEO of the Gautrain Management Agency, said on Friday, 30 October 2026.

The package includes return bus transport between Park Station and FNB Stadium, while train fares are charged separately at standard Gautrain rates.

Match tickets will be scanned at Park Station, and only holders of valid match tickets who purchased the package will be permitted to board the Gautrain buses.

Buses will operate between Park Station and FNB Stadium from 10:00 to 19:00, with drop-off and pick-up at the stadium’s Transport Hub.

Passengers travelling by train can also benefit from Gautrain’s station parking rate of R10, compared with R135 for non-rail users.

Extended late-night train services from Sandton

In addition to supporting travel to the Soweto Derby, Gautrain will extend train services from Sandton Station on Saturday night to accommodate attendees of Johannesburg Pride and the Replenishment Concert, as well as other passengers with late-night plans in the Sandton area.

The last train will depart Sandton Station at midnight, providing additional travel options for passengers beyond the usual 20:30 service close.

However, the extended service will not include the Airport Line.
