Durban – Armed robbers have targetted a cash van near Midway Mall in Newlands West.
The cash-in-transit robbery occurred on Friday, 27 March 2026.
All that was left was the wreck of the bombed cash van.
The South African Police Service (SAPS), responders, including KZN VIP’s Emergency Medical Services and ALS Paramedics, attended to the scene.
Witnesses said gunmen travelling in two cars opened fire on the armoured van.
When the armoured van came to a halt, it was bombed open.
The armed robbers stole the contents, which included an undisclosed amount of money, before they fled the scene.
No arrests have been reported.
