City Power on Sunday said it was still attending to an outage in Alexandra, Johannesburg, that occurred on Friday afternoon.
The outage is due to multiple cable faults in the area.
“The repairs are hampered by the fact that the faulty cable is encroached by shacks and houses built on top of it around 14th Avenue, making it difficult for our technicians to access and speedily repair the fault,” said City Power.
“The initial fault was repaired on Saturday and on attempt to restore, further faults were discovered.”
Areas affected by the outage include 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th avenues in Alexandra between Selbourne and Roosevelt roads.
City Power apologised to residents for the outage, but did not say when it expected to complete the repairs.
