Zimbabwe singing sensation Gemma Griffiths has arrived in Australia, where fans will enjoy her linguistic mastery when she switches flawlessly from English to the Shona language.
The unique singer arrived Wednesday and told fans on Twitter: “Perth see you Friday, Sydney Saturday, Melbourne and Brisbane next weekend!!!”
There are reportedly more than 65 000 Zimbabweans living in Australia.
Fresh from featuring on a song with Charlie Kay and South African rapper Casper Nyovest, Gemma asked on arrival, “Where are my Zimbabweans at?”
Notable songs from the Cape Town-born Gemma include Maita Basa Baba, Ndinewe, Only You, Gara Pano, and Murudo.
Gemma is a Zimbabwean singer and songwriter based in South Africa, where she grew up and still lives. She is touring down under with Zimbabwe Sungura music giant Alec Macheso.
