KwaMhlanga – The police have arrested two men in connection with the abduction and murder of a 58-year-old female teacher.
Teacher Rose Mahlangu was abducted from her home in Phola Park, near KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, on Wednesday last week.
Her body was found the next day along a road.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said two suspects – 28-year-old Solly Ndala and 39-year-old Vusi Ngozo – had been arrested for the dastardly deeds.
The suspects appeared before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga on Monday, where they were remanded in custody.
Allegations are that the suspects Ndala, Ngozo, and another accomplice – who is still at large, abducted Mahlangu from her house in Phola Park near KwaMhlanga last week.

The trio allegedly forced their way into the teacher’s home, where they found her husband whom they tied up.
When Teacher Mahlangu arrived in her Ford Everest the intruders forced her back into her SUV before driving off with her.
The intruders fled the scene with two mobile phones belonging to the couple.
Police found the teacher’s abandoned SUV on the same night.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdlhuli, said the suspects were arrested by a team of investigators.
Colonel Mdhluli said investigators linked the arrested suspects to another shooting that occurred before the abduction of teacher Mahlangu.
A 37-year-old teacher was shot in the leg and forced to transfer an undisclosed amount in cash from her bank account online.
The suspects then escaped with her laptop and mobile phone.
Commenting on the crimes, Colonel Mdhluli said: “In one of the shocking incidents, which are believed to have been carried out by the trio, a teacher Ms. Rose Balise Mahlangu was hijacked of her car during a house robbery,” Colonel Mdhluli said.
“She was then kidnapped and sadly murdered.
”Another victim was shot in the leg when the three suspects staged a robbery on the same fateful night.”
Colonel Mdhluli added: “The two were then charged in connection with various offences which include attempted murder, murder, kidnapping, and house robberies.”
Ndala and Ngozo will next appear in court on Monday next week, (30 October 2023).
