Durban – Two men were shot dead on Saturday afternoon in Cato Ridge, where a woman was treated for gunshot wounds to her legs.
ALS Paramedics said just after 12:30 an alert came through of a shooting incident at a parking lot of a popular shopping centre in Cato Ridge, West of Durban.
“On arrival, Paramedics found SAPS [SA Police Service] already in attendance with three people having sustained gunshot wounds,” said ALS Paramedics.
“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that two men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
“Unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene.
“Both men were believed to be approximately 40 years old.”
ALS Paramedics said a woman believed to be in her 30s sustained gunshot wounds to her legs.
“She was stabilised on scene by ALS Paramedics and EMRS before she was rushed to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required,” said ALS Paramedics.
“At this stage the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.”
